Off Shift Mig Welder

The welder is responsible for fabricating and welding metal components according to blueprints and specifications. This role involves operating welding equipment, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining a safe work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Fabricate and weld metal components according to blueprints and specifications.
• Operate welding equipment to perform high-quality welds on steel and possibly aluminum using MIG welding techniques.
• Visually inspect welds for quality and adherence to specifications.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively.

Essential Skills:

• Proficiency in MIG welding on steel and possibly aluminum.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and specifications.
• Fabrication skills including cutting, grinding, and fitting metal parts.
• Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy materials, and work in various positions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Around 1-3 years of experience working as a welder in a manufacturing environment from a welding trade school.
• Attention to detail with precision in measurements and weld quality.
• Time management skills to meet production deadlines without compromising quality.
• Teamwork and collaboration with other welders, fabricators, and engineers.
• Problem-solving skills to identify and correct welding or fabrication issues.

Job Type & Location:

This is a contract to hire position based out of Rockford, IL 61109.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
