Position Summary/Purpose: The purpose of the Student Video Production Assistant will be to assist full time staff in production of video content for GCE client shoots. This position also will have hands-on experience in shooting video for GCU campus events and be responsible for delivery of footage to our post-production team.
As a Student Video Production Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work hand in hand with our team of videography professionals and gain industry experience working on active client shoots, including promo videos, testimonials and large brand productions.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities/Essential Functions: - Assisting full time staff on video projects as crew: gaffer, grip, audio, production assistant or being extras in videos
- Learning proper on-set procedures, including set safety, prepping gear for video shoots, camera and lighting operations
- Solo or team on-location filming, such as interviews or capturing b-roll
- Making and uploading selects for the post-production team
- Organizing and updating inventory of studio gear and assets
- This job will require working evenings and weekends.
Equipment Used: - Grip/Gaff Equipment: C-Stands, Flags, Diffusion
- Camera: Sony FX30, Blackmagic Pocket 4k
- Audio: MixPre, Tascam, DJI Mics
- Lighting: Aputure Lighting
- Software: DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere, LucidLink
Qualifications: - Ability to be a self-starter, learn new skills and learn new software
- Basic knowledge of videography, including being able to operate a camera in a live event
- Working knowledge of video editing software, either DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere
- Able to lift 25-50lbs of gear and equipment
- Portfolio, website or examples of past videography work (recommended, but not required)

- Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor's program or Master's program.
- Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
- Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.
You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
