• Job Title : Manager of Mechanical Design Engineering
• Location : Port Clinton, OH
• Salary : $130,000-$170,000

We have a state of the art manufacturing facility dedicated to keeping small parcel distribution world moving quickly. We have been around for over 100 years and offer a close knit feel along with the most recent manufacturing machines. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Models best practices in team collaboration for others to follow
• Interacts with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to execute timely NPD objectives that meet business objectives
• Ensures accuracy and completeness of engineering team deliverables
• Drives accurate and timely technical decisions with alignment from all key stakeholders
• Provides support to manufacturing on new products, especially in the areas of BOMs, Routings, design updates, and technical production questions
• Oversees the daily workflow of engineers and/or technicians as assigned
• Supports the hiring and training of new associates
• Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
• Handles discipline and termination of employees in conjunction with Human Resources, as needed and in accordance with company policy

Qualifications:

• Four-year degree in a relevant engineering field, preferably mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing
• 15+ years' experience in an applicable engineering field, 5+ years in a leadership role
• Proficiency in modern manufacturing methods and processes
• Proficiency in Lean problem solving
• Solid knowledge of manufacturing and engineering fundamentals
• CAD, Solidworks is preferred
• Working knowledge of ERPs (SyteLine is preferred) as well as PLM or PDM Systems
• Basic knowledge of electrical controls, operation, and circuit design
• 5+ years of experience in tolerancing, GD&T and machine design in particular
• Working knowledge of power transmission systems including drives, pulleys, belts, motor specification, gearboxes and more
• Familiarity with conveyors and material handling systems is preferred but not a requirement
• Ability to maintain positive and professional working relationships with all staff at all levels of organization
