MAJOR FUNCTIONS Under the leadership of the Director of Quality of Life. This is a position requiring manual labor duties of skilled and semiskilled nature. Jobs involve maintenance and fueling at the marina facilities. Processing of credit cards and customer service are key responsibilities of the position with some maintenance functions.
This position is designated as emergency essential position that requires performance of emergency duties and actions to prepare, repair, and recover the City before, during, and after any adverse storm events (hurricane, tornado, tropical storm, winter storm, severe thunderstorm, flash flooding, etc.) or other conditions (natural or manmade). ESSENTIAL DUTIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Assists customers with the fueling and functions of the marina facility.
- Physically assists with fueling of boating vessels.
- Processes the payments for fueling facilities.
- Provides excellent customer service to customers and fellow team members.
- Processes deliveries of fuel and other vendors as necessary.
- Properly complies with all safety and boating protocols.
- Mows and trims around the fueling areas.
- Maintains the marina area in a clean and respectable manner.
- Does other general manual labor work.
- Picks up trash.
- May perform custodial duties such as cleaning windows, bathrooms, vacuuming and cleaning carpets, dusting, emptying trash cans, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES - Computer skills sufficient to process credit card payments for fuel purchases.
- Knowledge of tools and equipment used in manual labor work.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral instructions in a courteous, professional and efficient manner.
- Ability to operate basic maintenance and hand tools and equipment used in maintenance work.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team focused environment.
- Sufficient physical strength to perform manual labor work.
- Ability to work with fellow team members and the public in a professional and team focused manner.
- Able to work around water, boats and barges.
- Ability to swim and maintain water safety procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
- Three (3) years' experience in customer service and manual labor preferred.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Must be able to swim.
- Shifts may vary with weekends being required.
A comparable amount of training or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
