Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Data Engineer to join our growing Data & Analytics team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting AVG's data-driven initiatives by assisting with the design, development, and maintenance of our data infrastructure. You will work closely with data analysts, scientists, and business stakeholders to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into our data warehouse.

• Assist in the design, development, and implementation of ETL processes using Python and other relevant tools.
• Extract data from various sources such as databases, APIs, and flat files.
• Transform data using techniques like data cleaning, data integration, and data enrichment.
• Load data into data warehouses and data lakes.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines and data quality checks.
• Collaborate with the Senior Data Engineer and Data analysts to understand their data needs.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of data visualizations and dashboards using Power BI.
• Stay abreast of the latest data engineering technologies and best practices.
• Support data governance initiatives by ensuring data quality and compliance.
• Develop self-service models, and data analytics using Power BI service
• Develop, publish, and schedule reports and dashboards to meet business requirements
• Assist business users with functional and data requirements to enhance data models

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, or a related field.
• 2 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a related role.
• Strong proficiency in Python programming.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Familiarity with ETL concepts and tools.
• Experience with data warehousing concepts and tools is a plus.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms (Azure, Snowflake) is a plus.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker is a must.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in the Veterinarian Industry a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Passion for learning and a strong work ethic.
