SUMMARY The Job Coach will work with students who have minimal work experience to support them in work experiences with the goal of maximizing their capabilities for working in a competitive environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Assisting with recruiting business associates for informational interviewing, job shadowing, and work-based experiences.
- Assist with calling students and providing them with their sessions and work schedules.
- Provides on-the-job training (off-site locations) to ensure that each student's service plan or coaching goals are met.
- Observes and documents workers' behaviors and process in the vocational assessment and/or case notes.
- Assists in the completion of vocational assessments. Asks for assistance from co-workers and supervisors when unsure of job duty, site description and refers to program policies for job clarification.
- Conducts/advocates for activities/employment that will increase economic self-sufficiency (i.e. increase workers' earnings and hours).
- Ensures workers' compliance with all community worksite rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Acts as liaison between employer and student.
- Evaluates the daily performance of program student and make pertinent recommendations to the staff that designated your assignment with the participant.
- Operates motor vehicles safely and in accordance with State Law (agency and personal automobiles) while on work-related duties.
EDUCATION/ REQUIREMENTS - High school diploma or GED with three to six months of related experience and/or training required.
- Driver's License and personal insured vehicle.
