Pay: $27.31 - $30.42 / Hourly

Schedule: Monday - Friday (8am - 5pm)

General Position Summary

The Equity & Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for designing, developing, coordinating, conducting, and managing special projects related to ODDS Blueprint and Compass Projects, DEIA implementation projects, Emergency Management projects and communication outreach and engagement.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in behavioral science, social science, or a closely related field, OR an associate’s degree in a behavioral science, social science, or a closely related field and two years of human services related experience, OR high school diploma/GED and four years of human services related experience and at least four years of increasingly responsible employment in related field required.

  1. Knowledge of the public service systems in Oregon.

  1. Experience working in a team setting.

  1. Strong Organizational skills, ability to self-direct, experience with effective time management.

  1. Reliable transportation, valid Oregon driver’s license (or the ability to obtain a valid Oregon driver’s license within 30 days of hire) with a driving record that permits coverage under the agency’s corporate auto liability policy and personal automobile liability insurance.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience in social service setting with working knowledge of case management systems and planning techniques.

  1. Previous experience in Person Centered Planning and Self-Determination

  1. Ability to communicate in Spanish or other second language.

Required to demonstrate Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities to:
  1. Work with our service equity committee to identify DEIA goals and develop DEIA Actions plans.
  2. Implement strategies to reach DEIA outcomes.
  3. Identify, plan and execute no less than two community engagement trainings related to DEIA.
  4. Support the implementation of Blueprint and Compass Project objectives as directed by ODDS.
  5. Review Policies and Procedures to ensure DEIA and Person-Centered Practices.
  6. Engage in community outreach activities including but not limited to increase participation in Policy Oversight Group and Self Advocacy Groups.
  7. Connect with Emergency management teams in the counties we serve.
  8. Develop Emergency Preparedness Plans and kits for each office location.
  9. Build emergency preparedness kits for the individuals we serve.
  10. Plan emergency preparedness information and kit distribution events.
  11. Effectively educate and train including presentations to large and small groups.
  12. Use computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, word-processing, calendar, e-mail, and database software in performing work assignments.
  13. Effective communication orally and in writing.
  14. Follow and Implement Quality Assurance Principles.
  15. Navigate public service systems.
  16. Consumer rights.
  17. Assess, plan, organize and follow-up with projects or plans.
  18. Handle multiple projects & work in a fast-paced environment.
  19. Maintain confidentiality.
  20. Complete projects with specific time limits.
  21. Develop plans in partnership with others.
  22. Honor a person in what they want and need in their life.
  23. Understand trauma-informed care.

  1. Participates on the committee for the development and implementation of ISN policy and procedures.
  2. Attend program-related community, coalition, and committee meetings.
Secondary Position Functions
  1. Assist Program Director with projects, programs and meetings as required.
  2. Work as a collaborative team member to support and back up other team members as needed.
