Job Summary: Participate in cross-functional team efforts that create a synchronized global transportation and logistics program that serves the business requirements. Job Responsibilities: - Lead a high-performance, cross-functional international logistics team to execute day-to-day international logistics operations.
- Mentor team within the adopted Logistics culture and create an environment that people can grow in and reach their highest level of performance.
- Ability to lead a centralized international logistics department in a decentralized corporation.
- Collaborate and partner with other internal logistics areas, internal divisions, and external business partners.
- Manage a multimillion-dollar international logistics spend on behalf of the operating divisions.
- Monitor KPI's and internal statistics, such as service level, actual vs. estimated lead times and spend.
- Negotiate annual ocean carrier contracts.
- Serve as an escalation point for day-to-day international operational and compliance issues
- Set policies and procedures for corporate international logistics and customs compliance.
- Ensures compliance with international and U.S. laws related to import / export activities.
- Maintain and communicate SOP for Freight Forwarders as business requirements change.
- Stay current with international business climate and supply chain issues.
- Manage Genesco's first cost factory onboarding, file collection and archiving, factory evaluations, and periodic reviews.
- Maintain Genesco's C-TPAT program with US Customs including items such as the annual security review, factory validations, and third-party / factory C-TPAT compliance
- Have a solution focused mind set for process improvement and cost savings while balancing service to internal customers.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Corporate Logistics.
Job Requirements: - A bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or related field. MBA preferred.
- Minimum of eight years experience in managing global transportation.
- Detailed understanding of international trade regulations and customs compliance
- General knowledge of exporting desired, experience with Canada preferred.
- Knowledge of domestic logistics a plus
- Expert skill level in MS Office applications (Word and Excel)
- Ability to deal with all internal associates and external business contacts while conveying a positive, service-oriented attitude.
- Ability to exercise sound business judgment in a team environment, as well as independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven leadership skills managing individuals and teams in a high-performance environment.
- Ability to understand priorities and expedite work as necessary.
