ARCO Murrays in-house design is a small team with a large footprint and our portfolio is diverse to facilitate innovative thinking. We are seeking a key member who is passionate about the design/build process to join our architectural and interior design team. This is primarily an in-office position, based out of our Arco Murray Chicago office.

A DAY IN THE LIFE:
  • Space planning to enhance the function, compliance, and aesthetics of interior spaces
  • Create material palettes, including flooring, carpet, and specialty products to be approved by client. Order and organize samples for approval.
  • Maintain the material library and meet with sales reps
  • Support the greater architectural team in designing finish specifications and interior design details across a variety of project types:
    • Create millwork elevations and millwork details
    • Draft interior elevations, detailing and tagging all finishes and design intent
    • Select finishes, prepare finish schedule, samples and finish plan
    • Select light fixtures, prepare lighting schedule and RCP
    • Select furniture and prepare furniture drawings
    • Select appliances or other fixtures, create FF&E schedule and tag on plan
    • Preparing presentations
  • Create interior renders and 3D visualization
  • Coordinate with architect, construction project managers, and other design disciplines
  • Consider materials and costs according to set budgets and negotiated project fees
    • Propose alternate finishes at a lower price that match clients current specs
  • Prepare working drawings, designs, plans, models, and schemes that communicate design intent which will be coordinated with greater design team

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Interior Design
  • 4-10 years' experience designing corporate interiors and/or hospitality projects
  • Knowledge of innovative materials, lighting, fixtures, furniture selections and specifications
  • AutoCAD or Revit skills required
  • 3D rendering skills preferred
  • Building code knowledge preferred
  • Ability to juggle many projects simultaneously and stay organized
  • Self-starter with great attention to detail
