TrueNorth is seeking two Insurance Interns to rotate through our Employee Benefits and Risk & Workforce Solutions divisions, offering hands-on experience in both people-focused and compliance-driven areas of the business. Selected interns will automatically be enrolled in the Iowa Economic Development Authority's ‘Insure Your Future’ program, providing networking opportunities with interns from other companies and insights from industry leaders. Our internship program is a 11-week paid program, running May – August 2026. This position will be fully on site in our Cedar Rapids, IA office.

As an Insurance Intern within in these divisions, you will:

• Develop an understanding of people-related and compliance risks while supporting our Workforce Solutions team in resolving them
• Shadow various roles across both divisions to gain a well-rounded perspective on all aspects of client service
• Help develop employee engagement strategies for external clients
• Use HR technology to understand people-related processes and systems
• Collaborate on client plans within employee benefits
• Sit in on client meetings to gain real-world experience with the client-facing side of benefits administration
• Assist in building and maintaining relationships with insurance carriers
• Support marketing efforts for new and renewal business
• Work independently with minimal supervision and seek out opportunities to contribute to different teams
• Draft client presentations and stewardship reports

Education, Experience, & Skills:

• Must be of current Freshman or Sophomore Status
• Pursuing education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• Genuine interest in the insurance industry, employee benefits, and workforce engagement
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
• Extremely accurate with strong attention to detail
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite; specifically, Excel
