Job Description
Job Description Is responsible for planning and layout, fabrication and assembly of instrumentation provisioning for flight test aircraft and development projects where no established procedures or method exists and work is accomplished from the verbal instructions and/or rough sketches of engineering.
May accomplish machining operations required to fabricate instrumentation details and components.
Is responsible for the functional check and calibration of direct reading aircraft instruments and electro-mechanical sensing devices used for the accumulation of development test data.
Installs, operationally checks, calibrates and maintains direct reading instrumentation sensing devices of an electro-mechanical nature on aircraft undergoing flight test evaluation and performs the layout necessary to establish the locations for and accomplishes the assembly and installation to provide provisioning for new and changed engineering requirements.
Hooks up lines and/or electrical cables from sensing devices to termination points (either a visual indicator or the in-put terminals of electronic data handling systems) and ascertains that such hookups to this point are proper. This occupation requires the development, fabrication, assembly, modification, installation rework and maintenance of direct reading instruments and electrical and mechanical test equipment for developmental research and flight test instrumentation operations and testing.
Must be able to work any shift.
Basic Qualifications Experience in one or more of the following:
Experience with Electrical Harness Assembly and installation at sub assembly and aircraft level.
Experience with CNC machine work with ability to analyze and program own parts via CATIA software programs.
Experience with Hand fabrication of raw sheet metal using basic machine shop measuring tools.
Desired skills A&P license.
Performs the modification of sensing device installations to accomplish special applications.
Diagnoses and corrects electro-mechanical and provisioning malfunctions of sensing device failures occurring during instrumentation system ground run or those detected during flight operations.
Ability to maintain, modify, repair and install various types of electronic equipment used in flight test instrumentation or developmental research. May be required to provide general instrumentation support for engineering projects.
Perform flight line mechanics' work incidental to and in connection with the work described herein.
Ability to operate electronic data entry, storage, processing, and/or retrieval equipment as a routine part of accomplishing their normal job assignments.
Strain gage installation at sub assembly and aircraft level with high attention to detail. Capable of using associated tools (i.e. Crimpers, Ohm Meters, etc.)
CNC multi axis machining and programming experience
Electrical harness buildup experience
Experience with using Crimpers and Ohm Meters.
Experience with Structural assembly and install at sub assembly and aircraft level.

Work Schedule Information Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
