We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Inpatient Facility Coder to ensure accurate and compliant coding of inpatient medical records. This role involves analyzing clinical documentation and assigning appropriate ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS and DRG codes while adhering to industry standards and regulations. Inpatient Facility Coder Responsibilities: Review and interpret clinical documentation to assign accurate ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS and DRG codes for inpatient records Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, payer-specific policies and organizational guidelines Collaborate with clinical staff to clarify documentation and optimize coding accuracy Identify opportunities for documentation improvement and communicate findings to the CDI team Participate in audits and quality assurance reviews to maintain high coding standards Stay current with coding updates, regulations and best practices Utilize coding software and electronic medical record (EMR) systems efficiently Inpatient Facility Coder Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; an associate or bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred Certification in medical coding (e.g., CCS, RHIT, RHIA) is required 2+ years of coding experience, specifically in inpatient facility coding In-depth knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, DRG methodologies and regulatory compliance Familiarity with EMR systems, such as EPIC, Cerner or similar platforms Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills If you meet the qualifications, we invite you to apply today!
