Position Summary:
The Hotel Night Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of the hotel during the overnight shift. This includes managing front desk operations, guest services, and hotel security while ensuring a smooth and safe environment for guests. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervision and Leadership:
- Lead and manage the night shift team, including front desk staff and audit personnel.
- Ensure all night team members provide excellent customer service and adhere to hotel policies.
2. Guest Services:
- Welcome guests upon arrival and provide information regarding hotel services and amenities.
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and requests promptly and professionally.
- Conduct check-ins and check-outs efficiently.
3. Front Desk Operations:
- Manage reservations and perform front desk administrative tasks, including balancing cash drawers and processing payments.
- Monitor room availability and coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance teams for room readiness.
4. Security and Safety:
- Conduct regular inspections of hotel premises to ensure safety and security protocols are being followed.
- Respond to emergency situations and cooperate with local authorities when needed.
5. Financial Reporting:
- Prepare nightly reports, including revenue summaries and incident reports.
- Ensure proper handling of cash and credit transactions during the night shift.
6. Communication:
- Relay relevant information to the day management team, including feedback from guests and staff.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to resolve issues that may affect operations or guest satisfaction.
7. Training and Development:
- Train new night staff members in hotel procedures and policies.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages staff development and teamwork.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in hospitality management or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in hotel management or front desk operations is required.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
- Proficient in hotel management software and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
