Job Description
Summary:
Under the supervision of the Assistant Supervisor. Gunsmith I can modify, repair and service foreign and domestic firearms, weapons, and accessories.
Responsibilities
•Perform detailed assembly and disassembly of foreign and domestic small arms weapons including small arms inspection, maintenance, and minor repairs.
•Performs tool and capital equipment maintenance, weapons cleaning, and organizational level weapons maintenance.
•Modify, repair and service foreign and domestic firearms, weapons, and accessories
•Possesses knowledge of the tools (i.e. hammers, punches, files, stones, etc.) and gauges needed to perform assigned duties, has limited knowledge in the operation of gun-smiting machinery such as, surface grinders, etc., as well as limited knowledge of toolingused with those machines.
•Has knowledge of basic shop safety procedures needed to work in a small arms environment, performs support functions for the shop, to include preparing metal partsfor refinishing.
•Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested
Minimum Requirements
•High school diploma or equivalent is required.
•Requires knowledge in the use of hand tools, machine tools, and other equipment necessary to perform assigned duties, has the knowledge and skill to work on small arms.
•Must be able to obtain/maintain a CAC
