Performs pedigree analyses, interprets genetic testing results, and reviews the available information and options with the client and referring physician. Adhere to all laws and regulations related to patient health, safety, and medical information. Establish and maintain a billing system for the center, including tracking downstream revenue. Obtain, construct, and analyze family histories of clients. Discuss benefits, risks, and limitations of genetic testing with patients. Obtain informed consent for genetic testing during counseling sessions. Conduct follow-up appointments for results disclosure and post-test counseling. Supervise cancer risk analyst/staff assistant roles. Create personalized risk reduction plans using national standards and guidelines. Job Specifications and Core Competencies: Masters Degree in Genetic Counseling, Human Genetics and Counseling, or related field. Board Certified by the American Board of Medical Genetics or Medical Board of Genetic Counseling, or eligible with certification within 24 months. Prefer 1-3 years of experience; new graduates with strong clinical education are acceptable.
