ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lifts and stacks packaged product for shipping
• Removes defective almonds and foreign matter from bulk nut meats being transferred on a conveyor belt (defective almonds may consist of broken, shriveled or seriously damaged nuts and foreign matter may consist of leaves and rocks)
• Sits or stands for extended amounts of time while sorting nuts with two hands
• Pushes boxes weighing up to 35Ibs on a conveyor belt
• Weighs packaged product or bins for accuracy
• Arms boxes and places a bag within the boxes that will store the sorted nuts
• Wraps and caps pallets of packaged product with shrink wrap to prepare for shipping
• Assists with weekly cleaning procedures or during line change overs - disinfecting machinery, utilizing air blower guns and cleaning utensils
• Conducts quality check over completed packages by ensuring that coding and labeling is clear, bags are appropriately sealed and that weight is reasonable
• Performs the making, stamping, taping and stretch wrapping of cases prior to shipment
• Ensures quality of packaged nuts by removing packaged nuts from the conveyor belt that do not meet proper standards
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Physical demands

• While performing the duties of this job the candidate is required to use arms, hands, fingers to grasp, frequently stand, walk, lift, bend, stoop, twist, kneel, crouch and crawl throughout the work day
• Must be able to work with food grade soaps and alcohol.
• Must be able to lift up to 40lbs throughout the work day
• Must be required able to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends and holidays.
