Salary Range: $24-$32/hourly commensurate with qualifications

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (with some flexibility + work from home up to 1 day/week after successful 6-month onboarding) with occasional nights and weekends.

Target Hire Date: March 2025 (with some flexibility).

The Children’s Developmental Center, in Richland, WA is hiring a Fundraising & Events Specialist to implement fundraising strategies, including fundraising events, to support the organization's mission. Collaborating with the Development Coordinator and Marketing & Communications Specialist, this role involves planning and coordinating fundraising events, donor engagement activities, and securing financial resources to achieve organizational goals. This position reports to the executive director.

What does the position entail?

  • Identify and attend weekly networking, community events, and 1-1 donor meetings to build donor and sponsor relationships.
  • Actively seek out and secure donations and sponsorships through direct outreach and solicitation.
  • Identifies new fundraising opportunities, and strategies to expand community support.
  • Implements donor engagement and stewardship strategies, including new donor acquisition, donor re-engagement, donor retention, and major gifts.
  • Conducts donor cultivation through campaigns and ongoing stewardship.
  • Manages community gifts, monthly gifts, planned giving, and in-kind donations.
  • Collaborates with the Project Specialist, Marketing & Communications Specialist, and Development Coordinator to plan and execute fundraising events.
  • Recruits and trains volunteers for events.
  • Identifies, writes, and applies regularly for grant opportunities. Completes grant reports ensuring that programmatic results are in alignment with grant requirements.
  • Maintains accurate donor information in donor software and reports on trends.
  • Supports small-business collaborations, web-based donations, and social media campaigns.
  • Reports on key fundraising and performance metrics.
  • Supports staff with online communications including website, social media, and peer-to-peer.
  • Coordinates with the Executive Director and press to further the Center’s mission and programs.
  • Delivers community presentations, and facility tours, and solicits new board members & volunteers.
  • Authors advocacy letters, organizational publications, reports, and website content.
  • Other reasonable and related duties as needed.
Requirements:
  • At least one to three (1-3) years of fundraising and event coordination experience preferred.
  • Proven success in nonprofit fundraising, donor engagement, and event coordination.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. Strong relationship-builder.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and demonstrate strong empathetic interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to consistently provide accurate, thorough, and quality work.
  • Highly responsible and accountable. Committed to protecting confidential information.
  • Ability to be cooperative, supportive, and adaptable to change.
  • Proficient in MS Office, donor databases (we use GreaterGiving), and social media.
  • A commitment to the Children’s Developmental Center’s mission and values and the ability to apply those values in your work.
  • Must have the ability to commute locally for events (up to 20% of the time.) Must maintain a WA State Driver’s License and vehicle insurance.
  • A background check and pre-employment drug screening are required and will be administered after a conditional offer of employment has been accepted.
  • Due to working in a building where children are present, COVID-19 vaccination and a negative Tuberculin test is required.
