Full Time Personal Trainer/Group Fitness Instructor

Bishop Gadsden (James Island) is in search of a full-time Personal Trainer/Group Fitness Instructor to join our Community Life Services team! We are searching for an experienced Personal Trainer to assist with the development and implementation of programs which promote overall health and wellness for BG residents and staff at all levels of care, to implement Personal Training appointments/sessions with residents and to demonstrate and assist with general formats of group fitness. Our programs include specialized classes such as Yoga and Pilates, general format group exercise classes, and personal training.

A Typical Day:

\n
• Guide residents toward safe wellness practices per their expertise
\n
• Assist in developing and implementing wellness center programs, supporting the 7 Dimensions of Wellness
\n
• Provide one or more of the following instructional services based on experience to residents: Yoga, Strength, Water Aerobics, Core, Posture, or Personal Training
\n
• Willingness to learn other instructional specialties through Bishop Gadsden funded education
\n
• Provide one-on-one assistance and instructions to residents and staff regarding health and wellness
\n
• Provide pool supervision as needed
\n
• Perform instruction on all exercise equipment in the Wellness Center
\n
• Document accurately and on a timely basis, all information regarding residents to include reporting behavior to licensed personnel
\n
• Assist with basic clerical functions to include but not limited to copying, filing, correspondence, Wellness Newsletter assistance, and bulletin boards
\n
• Perform basic cleaning and maintenance of equipment and wellness facilities, filling water cooler/cups, replacing batteries, reporting needed repairs, etc. in a timely fashion and as needed
\n
• Participate in staff functions/programs as necessary, supporting team efforts
\n

What We Need From A Candidate:

\n
• High school graduate
\n
• Personal Training Certification
\n
• Experienced Yoga instructor preferred
\n
• Experience leading general formats of group fitness
\n
• Experience with and general knowledge of physical therapy
\n
• Experience in long term care and/or geriatric recreation recommended
\n
• Able to stand, stoop, bend, reach, squat, climb, reach above head, carry, and lift up to 50 lbs.
\n
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and written
\n
• Interpersonal skills are necessary for exchanging information as well as maintaining courteous relationships
\n
• Ability to maintain a pleasant, respectful, and courteous demeanor, providing continuous exceptional customer service
\n
• Ability to maintain personal hygiene, appearance and professionalism at all times
\n
• Basic computer skills for e-mailing and online billing [AOD]
\n
