Role At Camfer, our research engineers are training models to intelligently interpret and edit parametric CAD designs in 3D space. This is a cutting-edge challenge that requires innovative problem-solving and creative approaches to tackle complex, highly-technical problems. In the near term you may be building: custom models to generate parametric CAD models from text, efficient vector representations of 3D models, evals to measure performance of generations in 3D space, or RL frameworks to train agents. We are looking for people who: Have a strong fundamental background in algorithms and deep learning Can do true innovation, working on novel approaches and synthesizing improvements from a broad range of sources Are high agency and capable of solving problems end-to-end At Camfer, you will be given the autonomy to do some of the best work of your life. About At Camfer, we're building the world's first AI mechanical engineer. Our mission is to accelerate engineering. We want to eliminate the buffer between imagination and reality, while also making CAD more accessible to everyone. Our first step is creating a tool that allows engineers to use text, images, and mechanical drawings to generate feature-rich CAD models directly in their favorite platforms. As an applied research lab, we bridge the gap between theory and practical applications; there is no shortage of ideas on agents, but at Camfer, we actually execute. We want Camfer to be the place where everyone does the best work of their career. We’re building a flat and talent dense organization. Our founders are FRC world champions, UC Berkeley alumni / researchers, UC Riverside dropouts, ex-AWS, and ex-Meta. We started building Camfer just five months ago. Since then we finished YC, built a SOTA text-to-cad tool, won YC’s internal demo day, and won OpenAI’s o1 hackathon . We've raised $4.8M, our investors include Y Combinator, Next47, Bloomberg Beta, Octave Fund, and the founders of Dropbox and Airtable. We're in-person in SF.
