We are actively seeking a talented Finance Technology Services Consultant to join our Pacific Life Technology team. This new role will report to the AVP, Finance Technology. The role is ideally based in Newport Beach, CA (hybrid), and works with a diverse group of business and technology leaders ensuring delivery and support services meet the required success criteria. 

This role is imperative to providing technology management over the Oracle Finance Landscape being introduced through project Blue, overseeing both internal and managed service providers personnel and services. Existing enhancement and support services on finance applications such as PeopleSoft, Finance Integrations, Oracle Finance Data warehouse will continue to operate and improve in key areas based on business demand and service improvement planning along with technical upgrades on applications in the finance domain.

As a Finance Technology Services Consultant within Pacific Life Technology, you will play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success, developing and executing upon the overall strategy and roadmap for the ecosystem of technology driving technology services excellence across Pacific Life divisions. This includes enabling a reduction on shadow IT footprint by transitioning financial applications into a robust service framework.

The Finance Technology Services Consultant does more than managing services providers. They take the lead in on-boarding Enterprise applications and non-technology supporting systems into a service management wrapper providing quality services in a robust and efficient manner. Principally, they embrace the "1PL" philosophy and function well in changing environments along with driving quality service design as a central tenant of service management at Pacific Life. This leader is a champion of service excellence at Pacific Life, owning and driving best in class quality service management activities, processes and people across the organization globally. 

How you will make an impact

  • Set the vision, strategy, and action plan to implement service management practices and improve quality of service 
  • Lead the strategic implementation of all managed services in relation to financial applications
  • Ensure performance and quality services are in line with best practices and standards on testing, delivery < support and quality management, and evaluate emerging trends for potential implementation with vendors
  • Champion quality, driving increased efficiency and effectiveness while partnering with enterprise programs to develop service transition strategies, benchmark and monitor performance, and assist teams in solving problems
  • Coach organizations at-scale on how to blend incumbent and vendor delivery models to efficiently cover the system’s support and delivery
  • Ensure software engineering standards and practices related to quality are ingrained in all design and development 
  • Prioritize and deliver iteratively in a continuously changing environment 
  • Work with Operations to set practices, policies, processes, frameworks to run production operating within risk framework 

The experience you will bring

  • 10+ years of experience leading best practices in service management
  • Applies expertise as a support and delivery partner using a variety of service management approaches to support, delivery and testing approaches in leadership setting; becoming the status quo for service management quality assurance, and best practices 
  • Has hands-on prior experience with finance application management and financial processes applying learnings at-scale in leadership role to deliver optimum outcomes
  • Builds strategy for on-boarding applications from project mode to run, within the confines of budget and service requirements
  • Has expertise developing automated end-to-end quality management, as well as knowledge of frameworks and tools such as ITIL
  • Experience building out a performance, and service management frameworks to ensure analysis can be provisioned to support assessment on service management 
  • Support of SaaS and On-Premise environments, including integration workflow and monitoring controls ensuring services are not degraded over critical periods
  • Experience managing a global team; ability to build, motivate and develop a deeply talented team of quality-minded service providers 
  • Ability to foster an environment of mutual respect with the shared mission to modernize technology delivery and support
  • Strong communication skills: can communicate complex technical concepts and align organization on decisions that will set the tone for support practices, quality, and frameworks at Pacific Life 
  • Sound problem-solving skills: can quickly process complex information and present it clearly and simply 

What will make you stand out:  

  • Experience working in the financial services industry (insurance industry a plus) 
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of Service Management principles, methodologies, and tools in Software/SaaS environments on cloud and on-premise
  • Confidently understands and can lead teams on improving their services practices towards excellence

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$159,660.00 - $195,140.00
