JOB DESCRIPTION

We are currently seeking an Executive Underwriter, Commercial Insurance Specialty to join our Middle Market Commercial Insurance practice in New York City.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage a renewal book of $7M - $8M and generate new business of approximately $1-1.5M annually, focusing on profitable growth with New York City agents and brokers.
2. Underwrite products including Package, Property, General Liability, Auto, Worker's Compensation, Umbrella/Excess, and Foreign, with programs being guaranteed cost and Loss Sensitive structures.
3. Develop and negotiate pricing, coverage, terms, and conditions for new and renewal business, while identifying account rounding opportunities for other practices.
4. Collaborate with underwriters, operations, claims, marketing, and management to implement effective pricing and rate strategies that promote profitability and growth.
5. Demonstrate strong sales and marketing skills, managing relationships with agencies and brokers, and building new ones.
6. Identify growth opportunities within existing and new production sources, applying marketing principles and pricing strategies to achieve underwriting profitability.
7. Possess a high proficiency in risk analysis and the underwriting process, with the ability to interact effectively across all customer levels and teams.
8. Maintain knowledge of technical issues, compliance, coverage, products, and pricing strategies.
9. Travel locally as needed.

Qualifications:

• Experience in Property & Casualty lines; familiarity with global programs is a plus.
