Job Title: Electrician B
Requisition #: 2309 Location: Pascagoula, MS General Function The Electrician B is responsible for installing and repairing wiring, fixtures, and equipment supporting all electrical systems aboard vessels and throughout the facility. This role ensures compliance with technical specifications and safety standards in a shipyard or industrial environment. Typical Duties and Responsibilities • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams. • Install conduit using brackets and screws; thread wires through conduit to appropriate terminals (e.g., connection boxes, circuit breakers, voltage regulators, switch panels). • Connect power-supply circuits to critical systems including radio, radar, sonar, fire control, and other electronic equipment. • Test electrical parameters such as voltage, resistance, and phase angles using meters and indicators. • Construct and install instrument panels using hand tools, rulers, dividers, and power drills, following detailed specifications. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Familiarity with reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings. • Understanding of basic electrical theory and testing techniques. • Ability to work independently and safely in a marine or industrial setting. • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Experience and Training • Prior hands-on experience as an electrician is required. • Experience in an industrial or shipyard environment is preferred.
