Position Overview

Our client, a well-established and growing commercial electrical contractor, is seeking an experienced Commercial Electrical Project Manager to oversee ground-up commercial electrical projects. This role requires a proven leader who can successfully manage multiple large-scale commercial projects while maintaining profitability, schedule, quality, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage multiple commercial electrical projects simultaneously with a combined value of $10M+
• Oversee all phases of project execution from contract award through closeout
• Maintain full responsibility for project schedules, budgets, cost controls, and forecasting
• Coordinate with owners, general contractors, architects, engineers, inspectors, and internal teams
• Lead project kickoff meetings, OAC meetings, and internal coordination meetings
• Review contract documents to ensure scope alignment and risk mitigation
• Prepare, price, and execute all project change orders independently
• Track labor productivity, material procurement, and job cost performance
• Ensure strict compliance with safety standards, company policies, and quality requirements

Estimating & Preconstruction Involvement

• Support estimating and preconstruction efforts as needed to ensure smooth project handoff
• Working knowledge of electrical estimating software, including:
• Accubid
• ConEst
• McCormick
• Ability to review takeoffs, labor units, material pricing, and project schedules

Permitting & Code Compliance

• Manage or fully understand the commercial permitting process, including:
• Completing and submitting city, county, and AHJ permit applications
• Coordinating inspections and addressing corrections or revisions
• Strong understanding of NEC and applicable local commercial electrical codes

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in commercial electrical project management
• Demonstrated experience managing $10M+ in active commercial electrical work
• Strong background in commercial projects such as office, healthcare, education, retail, mixed-use, or hospitality
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously
• Strong financial acumen with experience in cost forecasting and margin protection
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
