About the Role
SUMMARY OF THE POSITION: The Director of ESG will lead and advise on the company's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy. This role requires extensive experience in corporate sustainability, ESG strategy and reporting, as well as strong skills in project management, interpersonal communication, and problem-solving. The Director of ESG will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to develop a robust ‘Go to Market’ strategy by assessing the global ESG landscape, analyzing regulatory requirements and the competitive landscape, evaluating internal capabilities and product fit, and crafting a strategic plan to ensure competitive market entry. They will lead a team in innovating and enhancing our client’s products and solutions to align with strategic objectives, driving their ESG product strategy -ensuring it encompasses the latest industry standards, and exceeds client expectations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop a global ‘go-to-market’ strategy in collaboration with the leadership team Stay abreast of emerging ESG trends, regulations, and best practices integrating them into the strategic planning process Collaborate with other program leaders to create leading edge product solutions Enhance the company’s reputation as a thought leader and trusted partner in the ESG Advisory space Engage directly with clients to understand their needs and gather feedback Cultivate relationships with key industry stakeholders Establish frameworks, metrics, and measurements to ensure delivery on client commitments Develop and manage the process for collecting qualitative and quantitative data for internal KPIs, client ESG requests, and external reporting obligations, such as CDP and SBTi Monitor and report on ESG performance and progress towards goals Foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote ESG initiatives Collaborate across teams to integrate ESG considerations into decision-making processes Manage third-party consultants and vendors as necessary MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in related field, such as sustainability, environmental science, or business. 10+ years of experience in Regulatory Compliance and a focus on ESG, sustainability, or related field Experience developing and implementing ESG strategies Experience leading teams and broad initiatives PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS Strong knowledge of ESG issues and trends, encompassing climate change, social issues, and governance Proactive and takes initiative Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, who fosters relationships with internal and external stakeholders Strong influencing skills, ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Ability to meet stringent deadlines within tight timeframes Meticulous, detail oriented, and adept at handling multiple tasks concurrently Exhibits strong time management and adaptability in work approach Inherently curious and a fast learner in a technical field Skilled in overseeing and mentoring other team members Collaborative team player capable of working effectively with diverse personalities Handles confidential information with discretion Demonstrates robust analytical and problem-solving skills
