Title: Design Researcher Industry: Entertainment Location: Burbank, CA Length: 8+ months Rate Range: $95-$106/hr Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S. We're seeking a Senior Design Researcher with deep expertise in Design Thinking and user-centered design to lead impactful research initiatives across the product lifecycle. In this role, you'll partner closely with cross-functional teams—including Product, Design, Engineering, and Strategy—to uncover actionable insights that shape intuitive and human-centered digital experiences. You will bring strong end-to-end research capabilities, from scoping and planning through to analysis, synthesis, and communication. Your experience with tools like Figma, Miro, and (ideally) Qualtrics will enable effective collaboration and rich research outputs. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage end-to-end user research: Define research goals, choose appropriate methodologies, conduct fieldwork, and synthesize findings into clear, actionable insights. Apply Design Thinking methodologies to guide problem framing, ideation, prototyping, and validation. Collaborate with product and design teams to ensure research informs and improves product development at every stage. Facilitate and participate in co-creation workshops, design sprints, and collaborative sessions using Miro and other digital tools. Create personas, user journey maps, concept validations, and usability reports that inform and inspire. Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders in clear, compelling ways. Optionally leverage Qualtrics or other survey platforms to complement qualitative research with scaled insights. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in design research Deep expertise in conducting end-to-end research across discovery, exploratory, evaluative, and validation phases. Demonstrated proficiency with Design Thinking methodologies and user-centric problem solving. Skilled in using Figma and Miro for collaborative design and research deliverables. Strong synthesis and storytelling skills—able to turn complex findings into clear insights and design opportunities. Experience working within agile product teams and collaborating cross-functionally. Comfortable navigating ambiguity and working autonomously while driving alignment across teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Qualtrics or similar platforms for quantitative survey design and analysis. Background in service design, systems thinking, or research operations.
