About the Role
The Company is seeking a visionary and experienced leader to serve as the Dean of Agriculture and Director of KSRE. The successful candidate will be responsible for advancing the missions of the College and KSRE, with a focus on high-quality teaching, research, engagement, and extension. This role requires a dynamic individual with a proven history of successful growth initiatives, strong partnership and collaboration skills, and a strategic, results-focused leadership style. The Dean will lead all academic programs, promote a team-oriented leadership approach, and drive the development and growth of the College's multi-faceted programs. Additionally, the role involves overseeing the strategic direction of the Kansas Cooperative Extension Service and the Agricultural Experiment Station, as well as leading fundraising efforts and strengthening relationships with community stakeholders, alumni, legislators, and industry. Candidates for the Dean/Director position at the company should hold an earned doctorate in a relevant field and have a strong record of academic achievement. Essential qualifications include a demonstrated ability to lead and execute a strategic vision, exceptional collaboration and communication skills, and a proven track record in fund development. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the land-grant mission and a commitment to educational access and opportunities. Preferred qualifications include experience in interdisciplinary and international programs, a history of building partnerships, and a firm grasp of the opportunities within a land-grant university with R1 status. The role demands a leader who is adept at managing change, fostering innovation, and is comfortable with the ambiguity that can accompany a large public university.
