Job Title: Virtual Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students Louisiana (Remote)

We are currently hiring a dedicated and certified Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher to join our remote education team. This is a fully online position serving K12 students throughout Louisiana. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about virtual instruction and committed to supporting the academic and communication needs of students with hearing impairments.
This role allows you to work from home while playing a crucial role in student development and accessibility in education.
Provide specialized virtual instruction to students with hearing loss across various grade levels
Adapt lessons to support language acquisition, auditory training, and communication goals
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with state guidelines
Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure student success
Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and services
Participate in virtual meetings, parent conferences, and professional learning sessions
Valid Louisiana teaching certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education
Bachelors or Masters degree in Deaf Education or a closely related field
Experience working with DHH students, particularly in virtual or blended environments
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication methods used in deaf education
Comfortable using digital tools and online platforms for instruction and communication
Organized, self-motivated, and effective in a remote setting
Previous experience managing virtual IEPs and compliance processes
Knowledge of accessibility tools and online instructional strategies for DHH learners
Bilingual in English and ASL is a plus
Familiarity with Louisiana education systems and online school protocols
