Job Description:
Our client Security’s Special Programs, Evaluations, Assessments, & Response (SPEAR) team is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our Data and Analytics (DnA) division.
In this role, you will support the expansion of business solutions as we scale to meet new demands across client.
You will be responsible for designing and implementing data solutions that automate, scale, and enable various service teams within the SPEAR business.
To succeed, you need familiarity with client’s internal tools and services, and expertise in AWS services such as Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, Airflow, Step Functions, IAM, and more.
Your work will reduce time to market for workflows, enable real-time decision-making, and help drive the success of this dynamic business.
Responsibilities:
Design and build scalable data pipelines to process complex datasets for analytical and operational use.
Develop and optimize ETL processes to ensure high-quality data integration.
Implement data validation techniques to maintain accuracy and consistency across systems.
Conduct data gap analysis and blend datasets as needed.
Provide insights into variances and trends through reporting and visualization.
Document data pipelines, workflows, and changes effectively.
Communicate changes and new features to stakeholders and data consumers.
Identify opportunities to improve customer experience.
Required Skills & Experience:
7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
Expertise in SQL and advanced database design.
Proficiency in a programming/scripting language (e.g., R, Python, Ruby, Java, JavaScript).
Strong background in data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing.
Experience with relational databases, business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, QuickSight), and data visualization.
Ability to work independently and deliver end-to-end projects.
Strong communication skills for understanding requirements and delivering data insights.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of software engineering best practices, including agile methodologies and coding standards.
Experience in collaborating with users, technical teams, and management.
Leadership experience in mentoring and guiding other engineers in data engineering best practices.
