Data Analytics Engineer (Azure, ETL, SQL)

Optomi, in partnership with a leading consulting firm, is seeking a Data Analytics Engineer to join our team! This role is essential to data analytics and business intelligence initiatives, specializing in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and other Azure services (Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, etc.). The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL optimization, data storage strategies, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities of the Right Candidate:

• Configure and ingest structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data repositories.
• Design, implement, and manage databases and data delivery systems for insights, analysis, and reporting.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory.
• Perform streaming and batch data processing, data wrangling, and data ingestion.
• Optimize SQL queries and implement best practices for relational, NoSQL, and data warehouse technologies.
• Support the identification, coordination, and exposure of data sources across multiple domains.
• Troubleshoot system issues with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision-making.

Experience of the Right Candidate:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering or related roles.
• 3+ years of experience working with Microsoft Azure cloud technologies, including Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Synapse, and Azure SQL.
• Expertise in data modeling, schema design, and performance optimization.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL with a strong understanding of RDBMS concepts.
• Proven experience in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines.
• Strong organizational skills to balance and prioritize work effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
