Position Summary
The Community Outreach and Engagement Coordinator plays a pivotal role in building meaningful relationships between IHCWV and the communities it serves. This position is responsible for developing and executing outreach strategies, fostering partnerships, and promoting programs that align with the organizations mission and values. The ideal candidate is a dynamic communicator, a strategic thinker, and a passionate advocate for community empowerment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement outreach plans to engage diverse community groups and stakeholders.
Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and public forums.
Build and maintain partnerships with local organizations, schools, businesses, and government agencies.
Coordinate and promote educational workshops, volunteer opportunities, and public awareness campaigns.
Act as the liaison on behalf of IHCWV to assist hired marketing firms with outreach materials, including flyers, newsletters, social media content, and press releases.
Track engagement metrics and prepare reports to assess the effectiveness of outreach efforts.
Collaborate with internal teams to align outreach efforts with program goals and organizational priorities.
Respond to community inquiries and provide resources or referrals as needed.
Assist with managing the organizations fundraising efforts.
Travel to sites, schools, and businesses acting on behalf of IHCWV to promote and increase brand awareness and community engagement.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in communications, Public Relations, Social Work, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
2+ years of experience in community outreach, engagement, or public relations.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with event planning, public speaking, and stakeholder engagement.
Familiarity with social media platforms and digital outreach tools.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of local community dynamics and resources.
Grant writing or fundraising experience.
