Mecca Property Management is a growing leader in the commercial real estate industry. We manage a diverse portfolio of commercial properties and are looking for a detail-oriented Property Accountant to join our dynamic accounting team.

The Property Accountant will be responsible for full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of commercial properties. This includes financial reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, and close collaboration with property management teams to ensure accurate and timely financial data.

Responsibilities:

• A/R & A/P
• Prepare and review monthly and quarterly financial statements for assigned properties
• Manage full general ledger activity, including journal entries, accruals and mortgage payments
• Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet analysis
• Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts
• Conduct monthly variance analysis and provide explanations to management
• Assist with CAM's (common area maintenance), property tax, and insurance reconciliations
• Ensure accurate accounts payable and receivable coding and processing
• Support annual audits and provide requested financial documentation
• Collaborate with property managers to align financial reporting with operations
• Assist with cash flow projections and monitor cash activity

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3+ years of property accounting experience, preferably with commercial properties
• Strong understanding of GAAP and full-cycle accounting practices
• Proficiency in Yardi (preferred), Entrata, or similar systems
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
