CNC Machinist – 2nd shift (4:00 PM - 12:30 AM)

Our client in the Fairport, NY area is seeking a CNC Machinist. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team with fantastic pay and benefits.
Salary Range: $17-$30/hour depending on experience

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Set up and operate machines, ensuring accuracy of settings and detecting malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
• Operate computerized deburring and tooling machines to perform machining operations such as drilling, chamfering, and deburring.
• Inspect workpieces throughout the production run to ensure machining is within tolerance.
• Maintain inventory for raw materials consumed on jobs and work orders to ensure timely reordering.
• Ensure a safe and clean work environment by maintaining the work area.

Qualifications:

• Proficient English reading and writing skills, able to read and comprehend MSDS sheets and standard work instructions. High School Diploma/GED is preferred.
• Ability to function as a member of a customer-focused quality team with minimal supervision.
• Maintain high levels of performance and motivation despite routine tasks.
• Understand and carry out oral and written directives.
• Detailed operational knowledge of specific CNC mills and lathes, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
• Ability to calculate and set machine controls manually or by entering commands.
• Use precision measuring tools and equipment, read drawings and blueprints.
• Familiarity with common machine and measuring tools, including micrometers and calipers.
• Regularly exert up to 35 lbs. of force and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Bending body downward and forward at the waist and standing for sustained periods.
• Effective communication with team members and consistently delivering quality work.
• Problem-solving skills, evaluating, and selecting solutions from established options.
