Job Description

Role Responsibilities: In this role, you will:

Contribute to application development, scripting, debugging, and provide expertise in value-added development to support our digital forensic lab and malware reverse engineering section.
Maintain existing applications and develop new applications based on customer specifications.
Work with a variety of technologies, including web services, client applications, plugins, and scripts.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
This position does not offer remote work options.
Minimum graduating GPA of 3.25.
Experience (non-academic preferred) in at least one technology from the following categories:
Web Development: PHP, Java, Python, NodeJS, C#
Frontend Technologies: JavaScript, jQuery, Angular, AngularJS.
Proficiency in one of the following programming languages: C, C++, Java, or Python.
Strong working knowledge of PHP, JavaScript, and/or Angular.
Experience debugging software applications.
Familiarity with high and low-level programming languages.
Ability to gather testable software requirements and participate in the design of new applications.
Familiarity with maintainable software processes, including software documentation, source code versioning, and unit testing.
Adaptability to new situations and problem-solving.
Ability to work in mission-critical and time-sensitive environments.
Key qualities include self-motivation, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.

Desirable Qualifications:

Familiarity with assembly languages and digital forensics.
Experience with hex editors and working at the byte level.
Knowledge of the Windows API and IDA Pro.
Basic understanding of protocol analysis and malware analysis or reverse engineering.
Experience in digital forensics and SQL.
A foundational knowledge of network architecture and networked programs.
Experience in secure programming for web applications.
Understanding of the software development lifecycle, including requirements definition and unit testing.
For entry-level candidates: Programming experience outside of the classroom through internships, clubs, contributions to open-source projects, or side projects.

Education Requirements:

Entry-Level: Bachelor's degree with programming experience outside of the classroom. Formal experience is preferred but not required.
Mid-Level: Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience, or a master's degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
Senior-Level: Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience, or a master's degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience.
