The Cemetery Maintenance Worker position is a semi-skilled position responsible for performing a variety of manual tasks related to funeral services, monument setting and cemetery grounds maintenance and upkeep. While performing cemetery and maintenance related duties are the primary responsibilities of this position, auxiliary functions may include, mowing, trimming, painting, weed eradication, minor tree trimming, and brush clean up. Expected work hours will be an average of 40 hours per week Monday through Friday. Overtime and weekend work may occasionally be required.

A Day in the Life:

• Performs all aspects of the funeral services including grave opening and closing, tent set up and tear down, casket lowering, sets new monuments, and moving and resetting monuments.
• Performs grass cutting duties with mowers and weed eaters, assists in the application of fertilizers and herbicides, removes grave decorations after Memorial Day, removes limbs and branches for disposal after adverse weather conditions.
• Operates a variety of power equipment, hand tools and machines including mowers, weed eaters, sprayers, chainsaws, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, back hoe, and loppers.
• Performs other duties as deemed necessary or assigned.

What You Will Need to be Successful:

• EDUCATION: A high school diploma or GED is required,
• EXPERIENCE: 1 or more year(s) of similar or related experience is preferred.
• CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Must be possess a valid driver's license. Must be 18 or older to apply.
