Job Description

This position is responsible for safely operating a water tanker truck to transport water for use throughout job sites, drainage, and structures to control dust by spraying water on roadways or to achieve compaction of construction materials. Requires a CDL with Tank Endorsement is a must. Essential Job Accountabilities include filling truck with water from approved supply sources, driving truck equipped with sprinkling attachment to settle dust on roadways and streets, distinguishing when roads are over-watered creating unsafe conditions, safely operating truck in often unstable ground conditions, performing pre- and post-inspections on truck pursuant to DOT regulations and company guidelines, maintaining equipment according to company and manufacturer standards, assisting crews with other tasks when not operating water truck, and performing other duties as required. Education required is High School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience. Work experience requires Class A or B CDL driver’s license with tanker endorsement, experience driving a water truck on roadway construction sites preferred, and experience operating heavy equipment preferred. Knowledge of DOT regulations, ability to navigate uneven terrain safely, recognize hazardous conditions, work various shifts including extended hours, work in all weather conditions, work in safety sensitive construction settings, collaborate in a fast-paced environment, and physical ability to perform tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs. is required.
