Bioinformatics Scientist to work at the National Institutes of Health in
Bethesda, MD This is a long-term contract position which offers:

TASKS/SERVICES . The contractor shall:
- Perform computational analysis of and interpret results.
- Provide broad-based programming and analytic support for a wide variety of bioinformatic and research projects.
- Maintain proper and detailed documentation of the analysis performed and report results at lab meetings.
- Perform data processing and data analysis with existing computational and statistical methods.
- Work with staff on planning of experiments, and data analysis for internal and collaborative projects; use bioinformatics expertise to advise and help bench scientists on experimental design and trouble-shooting.
REQUIREMENTS . The contractor must have:
- PhD degree in Neuroscience and/or a related discipline. Three (3) years of specialized experience plus a Master's degree is equivalent to a Ph.D. Five (5) years of specialized experience plus a BA/BS degree is equivalent to a PhD
- Strong computational, bioinformatics and statistics skills with a strong clinical interest, knowledge, and background.
- Ability to learn how to use new software and quickly become expert in its use, critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
