We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Collections Specialist to join our dynamic Accounting + Finance team. This role is integral to our company's financial health, as you will be responsible for managing our company's collections processes, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our financial records. Responsibilities

1. Oversee and manage the entire collections process, ensuring timely and effective collections of all customer accounts.
2. Regularly communicate with customers regarding their overdue payments, while maintaining a high level of customer service and professionalism.
3. Reconcile customer disputes as they pertain to payment of outstanding balances that are due.
4. Perform various administrative functions, including preparing and maintaining various reports, customer files, and customer correspondence.
5. Conduct account research and analysis, initiating debt collections, and performing account ledger reconciliation.
6. Coordinate with the sales and customer service departments to resolve billing and customer credit issues.
7. Participate in the 3 Way Match process to ensure the accuracy of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving reports.
8. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports of the company's collections activities for management review.
9. Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial management of the company's collections portfolio.
10. Stay informed of changing laws and regulations pertaining to debt collection, and ensure the company's compliance with these changes.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Collections Agent, Collections Representative, or a similar role in the Accounting + Finance industry.
3. Proven experience in collections, account reconciliation, 3 Way Match process, and ledger management.
4. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with customers regarding their accounts.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze financial data and generate effective solutions.
6. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and experience with accounting software.
7. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
8. Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements related to collections.
9. Strong customer service and negotiation skills, with the ability to resolve disputes and maintain positive relationships with customers.
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a high level of initiative and flexibility.
