Job Description

Are you an organized leader with a passion for hospitality and event planning? Port Angeles Red Lion is seeking a dedicated full-time Banquet Captain to join our team! With a base pay of $18.00/hour and the potential to earn $10-15/hour in tips during events, this role offers an exciting opportunity to be a key player in creating memorable experiences for our guests. ??

Summary:

As a Banquet Captain, you will ensure the smooth and efficient preparation of banquet facilities, oversee customer service during events, and assist in supervising banquet staff. Your attention to detail, leadership skills, and commitment to excellence will be essential in delivering exceptional events at Port Angeles Red Lion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee banquet staff during food and beverage service.
  • Assist management in the operation of the banquet department.
  • Review banquet event orders and manage daily functions.
  • Prepare banquet rooms for assigned functions.
  • Prioritize the needs of assigned functions to ensure events are executed seamlessly.
  • Maintain appropriate levels of food and beverage items.
  • Ensure proper service times and pacing.
  • Ensure equipment is in working order; report items in need of repair or unsafe conditions.
  • Perform specified opening and closing procedures.
  • Securely lock doors and equipment, turn off everything, and return keys after events.
  • Schedule staff for banquet functions.
  • Prepare and present bills to customers; professionally address any questions or concerns.
  • Assist in controlling labor costs through effective scheduling and staff management.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Keep the work area neat and organized.
  • Conduct yourself professionally at all times.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and report any unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Foster positive working relationships with all departments.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures in the Employee Handbook.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
