Job Description Summary: ALL LOCATIONS
Employee is responsible for planning and directing the delivery of Urgent Care / Primary Care services and health education programs in an industrial setting. The incumbent will provide care and health education for employees of the industrial client. Incumbent will work under general established supervision using protocols as required. Models appropriate behavior to employees as exemplified in the Quality Plus manner, which reflects commitment to the Continuous Process Improvement Plan (CPI). This position has flexible work hours five days a week, and is subject to non-traditional hours, in an exempt status.
Collaborates with the precepting physician in establishing / reviewing protocols for managing acute and long-term medical needs to the patients.
Performs a complete physical exam, obtain a complete medical history and records findings. Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
Interprets and integrates data to determine preliminary diagnoses and therapeutic plan.
Sutures minor lacerations when appropriate.
Provides medical services and health education to employee population under the supervision of the Nurse Practitioner's preceptor.
Performs necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to approved protocols developed with and under the supervision of the Nurse Practitioner's preceptor which may include the following: securing, recording and evaluating the health, psychosocial and developmental history of patients, ordering laboratory and Radiology testing, carrying out prescription drug orders under protocols, management of common or chronic illnesses, referrals, etc.
Documents the processes of nursing care delivered.
Administers medications in compliance with state law and clinic guidelines.
Stay up-to-date with OSHA recordable criteria and Tennessee workers compensation procedures.
Walk industry plant floor when possible while abiding by industries safety protocols.
Functions as patient advocate, conducts follow-up care and coordinate care with other healthcare providers and makes appropriate referrals for continuity of care.
Communicates and works in conjunction with Client Management team to promote employee health and wellness.
Maintains accurate and complete medical records in a timely fashion.
Demonstrates effective guest excellence skills with patients.
Provide educational counseling that will enhance patient care and preventive knowledge.
Participates in the selection and evaluation of clinical personnel utilized in the clinic.
Contributes to a positive work climate and the overall team effort of the department.
Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.
