Advanced Specialty Staff RN - MEDICAL FORENSIC NURSE at Providence Health and Services summary:

The Advanced Specialty Staff RN - Medical Forensic Nurse provides medical-forensic examinations and compassionate care to patients, including prophylaxis for pregnancy and STIs, documentation, and referrals. This role requires accredited nursing credentials, specialized forensic nursing training, and experience in nursing practice. The position supports a patient-focused healthcare environment within Providence's multi-state clinical network.

Description

The forensic nurse examiner will provide timely, compassionate care to patients seeking medical-forensic exams in accordance with established protocols. This will include completing a medical-forensic exam, providing prophylaxis for pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, photographic documentation, and completing referrals for appropriate medical and psychological follow-up.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Completion of the 40hr IAFN or OR SATF SANE-A course.
  • Oregon Registered Nurse License upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
  • 2 years - Nursing experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SANE-A or SANE-OR Certification upon hire.
