To thrive in this role, you'll need to love variety, work independently, communicate well and be super organized. The ideal candidate has been the Controller/CFO of a business and can jump into a set of books and run with it. You will be working on and manage several sets of books at -a time will be able to read a financial statement, close the books on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis including journal entries, have a strong foundation in GAAP, be able to make process changes, and have sales tax experience. Corporate tax experience a plus. YOU MUST LIVE NEAR TUCSON please.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Work in QuickBooks Online (95% of the time) and/or QuickBooks desktop on a daily basis for several small to medium sized business'
-Guide a company's budget process
-Manage a client's accounting staff - if applicable
-Develop accounting policies and procedures
-Review and establish internal controls
-Provide high level financial analysis
-Make recommendations to business owners
-Prepare forecasts and long term financial plans
-Develop performance metrics
-Implement best practices
-Perform bookkeeping tasks
-Strategic and financial planning
-Negotiate contracts/terms for business owners - if applicable
-Prepare accruals
-Depreciating assets
-Prepare month end journal entries
-Close the books on a monthly/annual basis
-Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
-Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
-Financial Statement preparation/analysis
-Payroll preparation
-Sales tax preparation
-Quarterly and Annual payroll tax form preparation
-1099 preparation
-Communicate progress to Supervisor on a regular basis
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
-College degree
-5 year minimum experience as a Controller or CFO
-3 year minimum experience using QBO and QB Desktop
-Strong business and administration experience
-Process improvement experience
-Strong leadership experience directing an accounting team
-Strong foundation in GAAP
-Problem solving skills
-Systems Aptitude
-Excel skills
WORKING CONDITIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
-Sitting 80%
-Standing/Walking 20%
-Office setting - Office, Client, Home
-Frequent client and interoffice personnel interaction as this position is heavily dependent on excellent customer interaction.
-Hearing - Must be able to hear telephonic equipment and comfortably communicate with clients and others by telephone and in person.

STATUS:
This position will be up to 32 hours/week. This can be either a contractor or employee position depending on circumstances.
